  • Establish a solid foundation of knowledge, understanding, and experience through tailored learning and development. This includes two weeks' onboarding on SAP technology and products, and professional and technical skills.
  • Undertake ongoing learning sprints with week-long training periods in between each rotation. This is designed to enhance the skills you need when you need them.
  • Profit from monthly meet-ups that are curated specifically for the program. These include tech talks, fireside chats with executives, and knowledge-sharing lunches.


  • Collaborate with peers and senior managers on strategic projects and challenges

Silicon Valley Next Talent Program provides a collaborative platform where I can rotate with different product teams and learn from many talented engineers in a short time. Frequently asked questions

Who joins the program? Who should apply?
  • Participants are graduates with experience and interest in development and engineering, user experience and user interface design, and data science, who have graduated less than a year before the start date.
  • Program starters need to have completely finished school by the January or July start date.
  • Participants come from diverse backgrounds as innovative thinkers and doers who share a passion for improving people’s lives.  
When does the program start?
  • Silicon Valley Next Talent Program has three cohorts in Fall, Winter, and Summer.
  • Specific start dates are defined in the job description.
  • Participants must start on the outlined start date with no exceptions.
How long is the program and each rotation?
  • Silicon Valley Next Talent Program lasts for 18 months. Participants undergo two to three rotations that each last six months.
  • Participants will be considered for roles throughout and at the end of the program and may obtain a full-time engagement in a team before the end of the 18 months.
How do the rotations work?
  • In the first week, participants have informational interviews with possible teams.
  • The teams and participants provide feedback on their preferences.
  • Based on mutual feedback, all participants are matched to a team by the end of their first week.
  • Subsequent rotations also follow this process of interview, feedback, and matching.
What kind of teams are participants placed on?
  • Participants are matched with teams across SAP, including teams focused on cloud delivery, customer experience, travel, retail, IoT, AI, and more. Each team has a different focus and strategy. That is why we have this program – to help you find your perfect match!
  • As a participant, you could rotate into our start-up incubator and help build a product from the ground up. You could work with our fully developed, layered retail and e-commerce solution to enhance features or bring machine learning into the fold. Or, you could work in our innovation teams deciding how and where SAP will grow and what technologies to include in the growth.
  • Each team’s culture is different, but overall SAP is an award-winning place to work with a sense of comradery. SAP supports each employee with  transportation, learning and development opportunities, and some of the best employee benefits in our industry. We recognize that different people have different needs, and our benefits extend beyond healthcare coverage and retirement plans, with a variety of options to help you juggle the demands of your career and life.  
Other than rotation work, what else does the program provide?
  • Beyond rotations, Silicon Next Talent Program provides formal training where participants learn about SAP’s history, business goals, and meet with their future managers.
  • Throughout  the program, there are fireside chats with influential members of SAP who give insight into their experience and line of business at SAP. There are also tech talks on specific strategic topics, and learning sprints (such as "Investing 101", "Benefits", and "Imposter Syndrome").
  • There are strategic projects completed in groups which tackle design and business challenges to prepare participants with the SAP knowledge and skills to become SAP business-ready. Participants receive bi-monthly performance reviews to encourage continuous learning and growth. This is supported by a three-layer mentorship concept: lead for the Silicon Valley Next Talent Program, rotation mentor or buddy, and mentor for the Silicon Valley Next Talent Program.
What type of mentorship is in this program?
  • As a participant, you will have monthly meetings with the lead for Silicon Valley Next Talent Program. The lead is your coach and mentor throughout the program, and helps you develop soft and technical skills.
  • In addition, meetings with your rotation mentor and buddy establish a project timeline, and provide guidance on completing projects as well as allowing for day-to-day feedback. An assigned alum mentor helps you better understand SAP and Silicon Valley Next Talent Program, and shine in your rotations.
Does Silicon Valley Next Talent Program provide sponsorship and relocation?
  • Yes, Silicon Valley Next Talent Program provides sponsorship on a case-by-case basis. However, participants must have valid work authorization in the United States for the entirety of the program (18 months).
  • Silicon Valley Next Talent Program will consider providing relocation funding on a case-by-case basis.
What will the day-to-day schedule look like?
  • In general, participants will work on diverse teams, in which they will experience a balance of independent work, team collaboration, and strategic projects.
  • Participants are full members of their rotation teams and are expected to learn the product, build up expertise, and own a project. They also attend team meetings and offsite meetings if applicable.
Can I apply for more than one role?
  • Yes, you can apply to more than one role. You can choose to take as many virtual assessments as you like.
  • We are considering applicants for 2020 cohorts. You will be auto-sorted to the appropriate cohort depending on your graduation date.

January 2021 cohort: graduation date must be between May 2020 and January 2021

July 2021 cohort: graduation date must be between January 2021 and July 2021

What is the difference between Silicon Valley Next Talent Program and a regular hire or an internship?
  • Internships are for those still in college. Interns receive intern pay and benefits and stick to one team.
  • Participants of Silicon Valley Next Talent Program are full time, salaried employees who rotate through the business.
  • Regular hires enter indefinitely into a team. Experiences vary depending on the team and there is no guarantee of mentorship, tailored training, a network, or a dedicated lead laser-focused on helping you grow.
  • Overall, Silicon Valley Next Talent Program will accelerate your career by providing the guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to experience three years of work in just one and half years.
What does it take to be successful in this program?

We are looking for people who are independent, who crave change, and who are constantly learning and self-teaching new things. People who are able to connect dots to understand the big picture and not only comprehend it, but translate it into actionable tasks. We need hungry, proactive, and curious talent that gets things done.
